"To sum it all up, Ms. Moriarty deserves this recommendation. Not just for knowing and teaching, but for showing compassion and love towards her job and students."

- Erin D., former student

"Ms. Moriarty's love of children and her profession gave my daughter all of the confidence she needed to go on. She has a unique understanding and appreciation for children and their needs."

- Cathy B., parent of former student

"I have to say that 5th grade was my best year in math. I learned everything I know about fractions to this date from paying attention in [Ms. Moriarty's] class. I learned practical applications for the skills I was learning and had fun while I was at it.

My personal favorite was the "Hot Dog Stand" project. She uses a laptop and a projector so that the whole class can see the game on the computer screen. The game simulates that you are in charge of a hot dog stand in a stadium and you must make decisions based on the market and the price of the food. It taught me many things about comparing prices and the math behind supply and demand."

- Daniel S., former student

"Ms. Moriarty conducted herself in a highly professional manner interacting with students, parents, and staff. She implemented individual educational programs and coordinated parent and staff meetings relating to special education topics. I observed Ms. Moriarty resolve many complex, emotional issues with patience and intelligence.

I highly recommend Ms. Moriarty. She is a dedicated educator who has met the many challenges presented to her. She has a background of experience in special education, regular classroom instruction, program administrations, and computer technology."

- Gene R. Crews, Special Education Teacher, Mountain View Middle School

"Teaming is a philosophy that comes naturally for Patricia. Her commitment to communication and collaboration allows her to effectively create a sense of community, inside and out of the classroom."

- Donna Tremblay & Lynn Tassi, Teachers, Mountain View Middle School

"If one were to ask a professional member of the staff what Ms. Moriarty taught, perhaps they might respond "technology" for Pat is well known for her ability to integrate technology in all aspects of her instruction. During her work with her fellowship at NASA, Ms. Moriarty brought many insights into the application of technology in the classroom. As she continued on with her Masters Degree work in Instructional Technology at Lesley College, she has continued to amaze us in her abilities to handle the most complicated of tasks. Whether it be creating a web site or assisting teachers in troubleshooting both hardware and software, Ms. Moriarty has endeared herself to all members of the staff."

Rose LaRochelle-Colby, Principal, Mountain View Middle School
